Fashion Show MK SS17 Review
Fashion Show MK brought together another fantastic host of independent designers at our Spring Show last week at our exciting new location - Milton Keynes’ most picturesque setting –the stunning Chichley Hall.
This time was made even more exciting, as we introduced menswear to the show, and we were thrilled to see so many male fashionistas there on the night along with our fabulous females.
The evening kicked off at 7pm when our guests filled the sun-soaked atrium and our VIP’s were treated to an exclusive champagne reception whilst the bar was ready and waiting with the necessary evening refreshments. Our guests were able to mingle, and speak with designers at their fashion stands whilst browsing through the different styles before they were showcased on the red carpet.
Each of our designers; James Virgo, Mad FX Clothing, Boutique Cholpon, Wheel and Thread, Daisy and Co and Krisp clothing each set up their stands with some of their best pieces, and we also had the Milton Keynes based Nails brand, models own at the show, to bring us their latest spring summer colours to spruce up any outfit.
Our wonderful host for the evening, Jolly Bills, greeted our guests and as they took their seats she wowed with her awe-inspiring vocals. A number of jazzed up favourites put everyone in the party vibe for a night of celebrating the best in local, up and coming fashion talent.
First on the runway was a GM favourite, James Virgo, with his creative collection of fashion Bowties. James has shown his artistic designs with Gemmedia Events at our last two shows, and his bowties never cease to catch our audience’s attention. James showcased some brand new creations, which were styled out against sleek black outfits on our male and female models.
Next up, it was time for the menswear collection to make its debut at Fashion Show MK, with the super stylish Mad FX brand. Our male models looked on point in this brand’s fresh style, as they worked innovative design and eclectic prints. This up and coming label is truly one of a kind, from the men behind the brand to the artistic fashion that they design, and we loved seeing their creations on the red carpet.
Then it was time for the super stylish Boutique Cholpon. This local brand is renowned for its striking dresses and eveningwear and it certainly wowed on the night. The ladies looked flawless in these stunning pieces, which varied from floral and vibrant to sleek elegance.
After a short break for drinks top ups and another star studded set from Jolly Bills we were on to the next round of designers.
First, Wheel and Thread, the up and coming casual wear brand, specialising in cool tees and signature caps. Our male and female models rocked the casual street style and showed just why this brand is one to watch.
Then for London based active-wear brand Daisy and Co. These guys have already featured in Vogue Magazine, and we were super excited to see their fabulous workout gear at the show. Making sportswear fun and flirty, Daisy and Co’s floral prints looked fabulous on our ladies – enough to make us want to hit the gym!
Ending the evening in fabulous fashion was our favourite high-street brand, Krisp clothing. The guys worked crisp white tees, grey sweats and camo pants and our girls looked breath-taking as they graced the catwalk in a collection of Krisp’s best eveningwear, decked out with the brand’s eye-catching accessories and shoes. These showstoppers made for the perfect finale to a fantastic evening of celebrating our inspirational designers.
We are delighted that our spring/summer show at our stunning new setting was a marvellous success.
Our models brought each design to life in truly fabulous fashion, bringing their own flair and originality to the pieces.
Every brand added something unique to the runway and we would like to thank all of our designers for inspiring us with their incredible independent fashion.
