Fashion Show MK AW17: A Review

Fashion Show MK brought together more fantastic independent and emerging designers and boutiques at our Autumn/Winter show last week, in Milton Keynes’ most picturesque setting –the stunning Chicheley Hall.

This was the 4th show by GM Events and in our opinion, it was the best one yet!

This time was made even more exciting, as we welcomed our special guest Olivia Buckland from ITV Love Island, who modelled the Womenswear so confidently.

We were thrilled to have such a diverse range of Womenswear and Menswear collections, plenty of pop-up shops and a fantastic audience to help create an amazing atmosphere.

The evening kicked off at 7pm when our guests filled the Autumnal leaf decorated atrium and our VIP’s were treated to a goody bag filled with discount coupons and handmade chocolate from Atelier The Brigadeiro as well as an exclusive champagne reception. The bar was ready and waiting with the necessary evening refreshments, with nearby Pop-up shops from Ruth Scotford and her Tweed collections as well as Anna Calvert and her Jewellery collection.

Our guests were able to mingle, and speak with designers at their fashion stands whilst browsing through the different styles before they were showcased on the red carpet.

Backstage the models were organised by Natalie Naaman (owner of U&I Lifestyle Ltd) and prepped with hair & make-up. Thank goodness for Make-up artists: Tricia D'Costa & Jenny Buckland who used Delilah Cosmetics on all the models, to create a flawless look, perfect for Fall. Fashion Show MK Hair stylist: Henna made our models look even more the part with their fabulous and quirky hairstyles.

Our wonderful host for the evening, Nicola Tompkins voted as 'Miss MK', greeted our guests and as they took their seats she introduced our first musician Estelle. A number of Pop favourites put everyone in the party vibe for a night of celebrating the best in upcoming fashion talent.

Then the runway started and what a treat we had for Halloween weekend!

'Miley's Boutique' showcased their smart/casual look, with a personalised shirt and loafers, especially for Olivia Buckland.

Milton Keynes brand 'Moodis Fashion' showcased their creative artwork on t-shirts for both men and women, with a real rifle gun to add extra emphasis of the men's t-shirt slogan!

Stylish, fun and affordable Womenswear brand 'Little Miss Millennial' showcased their fun evening dresses.

Northampton Fashion Graduate; Jade showed us the final designs from her University fashion collection. (This photo could get away with being an album cover!)

Olney based brand 'Noa Noa' showcased their AW17 outfits which are sure to keep us warm this Winter!

London based Fashion Blogger Scarlett Dixon showcased her new and exciting floaty, floral dresses.

Leicester based Brand 'Emma Semento' showcased her luxury, high end, bespoke couture outfits which were simply stunning and definitely helped create a WOW factor.

Portsmouth based brand 'Fitlete' brought Fitness style to Fashion Show MK, which has inspired us for the SS18 show. Watch this space ;)

London based brand 'Cameron Charles' showcased their stylish, tailored jackets.

Milton Keynes brand 'RA Vintage' showcased their popular comfortable and trendy leisure wear, which got the crowd intrigued as models were throwing complimentary hats to them!

The event ended with tight latex by Shokushu Boutique, which was fun for the models and the audience.

Lastly, we ended the night with soft music from 'Manny and the coloured sky' which helped end a fabulous evening.

We are delighted that our Autumn/Winter show was a marvellous success.

Our models brought each design to life in truly fabulous fashion, bringing their own flair and originality to the pieces.

Every brand added something unique to the runway and we would like to thank all of our designers for inspiring us with their incredible independent fashion.
